Since 1998 we looked for several high-quality fish feeders for my own personal needs. Our core mission has to sell high quality products at the lowest delivered price. OutdoorsForLess  is the largest dealer/distributor for The Blynd deer stands. We are also proud to carry products by: Texas Hunter Products, Sportsman’s Condo, Capsule Feeders, Booner Blinds, Maverick Blinds, Real Bark Blinds, Rhino Blinds and Bass Hunter Boats.

One of our main goals when approaching Glendale Designs was to enhance the usability and design throughout our site as well as becoming responsive.

The Challenge

Outdoors for Less needed a way to improve their website functionality and increase conversion rates for desktop and mobile devices. The desktop site needed cosmetic adjustments, while the mobile site was outdated and lacked modern functionality.

Outdoors for Less wanted to improve the overall customer shopping experience by updating website performance, adding beneficial features, and taking advantage of Miva’s built-in facets.

The site information needed to be consolidated and displayed easily to help reduce total customer service time. Also, the client wanted an easier, quicker way to manage site content.

One of our main goals when approaching Glendale Designs was to enhance the usability and design throughout our site as well as becoming responsive!

The Solution

Glendale Designs crafted a visually striking, user-friendly, responsive site based on the latest Miva Elements framework. The basic theme and design elements were tweaked to include additional components that improved the overall shopping experience.

REDESIGN & RE-BRANDING

Glendale’s design team added stunning graphics throughout the site. Customized designs were layered over the framework to create a site that is both user-friendly and visually appealing. Design and graphic elements were carried through to category pages for continuity, as well as all other site content for a cohesive, professional look.

To maintain the new site’s modern appearance, the company logo also received a makeover.

NEW FEATURES

Significant improvements in the basket and shopping cart boosted the user experience. Volume pricing and specific product discounts were enabled and the basket screen layout was improved. The checkout process was upgraded for a better flow and design. This included enhancements like order custom fields, gift certificate/coupon functionality, and third-party payment systems like PayPal and Amazon Pay. We also added a three-step abandoned cart email campaign with automatic coupon generation and incentives to encourage shoppers to continue their original purchase.

An enhanced shipping screen with dynamic order total (e.g. when a customer changes their shipping method) keeps the customer informed of all costs ahead of time.

To save design costs in the future, many areas of the site were improved so content can be updated by the client, including featured products, category headers, and other information.

The customer “contact us” form was updated to include multiple levels of spam protection and a built-in quote feature that pre-fills from the product page. “Success” and “Help” messages were customized to match the site’s professional appearance.

Product pages were enhanced so that customers remain on their current page as items are added to the cart. Custom messages, including error messages, ensure shoppers are notified as items are added to their shopping basket for a smoother, detailed shopping experience.

Additional upgrades include a smarter “back-to-top” function for easier navigation and product sliders that are touch-optimized for mobile. The functionality of the stock search feature and product filtering was enhanced to improve the customer search experience. Standard templates, including 404 pages, basket empty pages, etc. were also updated.

As we do with all our clients, we completed the upgrade by performing QA testing, bug fixes, and interface tweaks to confirm there were no issues before going live. This final step helps ensure an easy transition and an overall happy, flawless shopping experience.

I do not generally write reviews, but... We have been involved in e-commerce since 1998. We are running our site on Miva and we have been supported by Sabine and Glendale Designs for many years. I consider their whole team as friends who assist us in any way they can. They listen, they implement and everything looks and works as it should!
